AVUS 1954
Acrylics on canvas, size is 60x80cm.
(Commissioned work)
The legendary banked AVUS Nordkurve during the non-championship F1 race in 1954 with the three streamlined Mercedes of Fangio, Kling and Herrmann in front of the Gordini of Jean Behra.
My customer wanted this picture to commemorate his first Formula 1 race as a spectator. The eight-year-old experienced this formative event in the infield of the famous Nordkurve - it was exactly this perspective that I wanted to reflect in my painting.
Brothers
Acrylics on canvas, size is 100x70cm.
The careers of Jo Siffert and Pedro Rodriguez were fatefully linked. In 1971, both drove for the John Wyer factory team with Porsche in the Sports Car World Championship and for BRM in F1. This painting shows them at their last start together at the French GP in Paul Ricard. Shortly afterwards, Rodriguez had a fatal accident at the Norisring, and Siffert was killed at the end of the season in Brands Hatch.
The original painting is on display at Meilenstein in Langenthal/CH and is for sale.

Ayrton in Imola
Acrylics on canvas, size is 100x160cm.
I've always wanted to capture the theme of "Ayrton Senna / Imola" in a painting. This should be done in the most respectful manner possible. Since I was very moved by the statue on my first visit to the memorial in Tamburello, I really wanted to include it in the picture.
I hope that with this picture I have created a worthy memory of the great champion!
The original painting is on display at Meilenstein in Langenthal/CH and is for sale.

Acrylics on canvas, size is 120x80cm.
(Commissioned work)
Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips winning the British Grand Prix in Aintree 1961 in torrential rain in his legendary Ferrari 156 Sharknose.
In this picture I wanted to show the difficult weather conditions and at the same time show the confidence with which von Trips won this race.
F. Lienhard 24H Daytona 2002
Acrylics on canvas, size 160x100cm.
A sensational victory in the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona was scored by Swiss "Gentleman driver" Fredy Lienhard in 2002.
Together with his co-drivers D. Theys, M. Papis and M. Baldi he drove his Dallara SP1 to a convincing victory. The painting shows the car during sunset in the famous banking section.
The original painting is now on permanent display at the Autobau Museum of F. Lienhard in Romanshorn/CH.
Nürburgring 1961
Acrylics on canvas, size 80x60cm.
(Commissioned work)
Starting line-up for the start of the 1961 German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, moments before the race begins.
This painting was made in memory of Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, who captivated the whole of Germany in 1961. The customer was there in person at the time, and this race gave rise to his lifelong fascination with the Count's personality.
Jo Siffert
Acrylics on canvas, size 160x100cm.
Swiss racing hero Jo Siffert regularly showed up in his homecountry where circuit racing is forbidden to this day. He did demo-runs in his current cars like in this painting, where he raced the Rob Walker Lotus 49 in the famous hillclimb in St. Ursanne / Les Rangiers.
The painting is done in a sort of "Art-Deco" style and shows him underneath the famous bridge which crosses the road.
Brun Porsche 956
Acrylics on canvas, size 160x100cm.
In 1986, the private Brun team achieved a surprising victory in the World Sports Car Championship! With a lot of passion and professionalism they defeated the factory teams from Porsche and Jaguar, also thanks to the excellent driving team with drivers like et al. Thierry Boutsen, Oscar Larrauri and Frank Jelinski.
The original painting is on display at Meilenstein in Langenthal/CH and is for sale.
Siffert / Tinguely
A special friendship: Jo Siffert and Jean Tinguely
“Movement is life and standing still is death,” is one of Jean Tinguely’s quotes.
He is considered one of the main representatives of kinetic art and is best known for his moving, machine-like sculptures.
Like Jo Siffert, he was born in Freiburg, a city in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
Tinguely was a big fan of racing and this passion developed into a close friendship with Siffert. Motorsport, the fascination for movement, acceleration and speed served as a source of inspiration for many of his works.
“The master of senseless movement, and the master of senseless speed” combined in one scene. I chose the unsuccessful March Sifferts from 1970 for my picture. On the one hand, because the red color goes perfectly with the colorful confusion in Tinguely's picture. On the other hand, the phrase “senseless speed” is symptomatic of Siffert's worst F1 season and thus also of March 701.
Original painting for sale!
Gerhard Berger,
Monza 1988
And Enzo watches from the sky...
It was the first race after the death of the great Enzo Ferrari, the Italian Grand Prix in September 1988.
As in all previous races of the season, the Honda-powered McLaren of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost dominated the race in Monza. But Prost dropped out with engine failure and Senna stumbled over J. L. Schlesser in the Williams, who he was trying to lap in the final laps. So the way was clear for
G. Berger in the Ferrari, who made this day a holiday in Italy - it is said that the "Old Man" had a hand in it from heaven...
